What's the deal with all the gear people on the site? The short answer is I wanted pictures to go with my articles but I figured it would be too hard and too expensive to find and license good images. I like to illustrate and I thought there was a more fun way to make the images. It also ties in with my logo. The deeper meaning is I believe we are all faceless cogs in the machine we call life. Although we greatly different in many respects and no two people are ever the same, we are all replaceable and in some respects interchangeable. Society wants us all to fall in line. That's how the machine works. But if just a couple of the gears were to misalign or break away, it would lead to the destruction of the machine and chaos. Long term chaos is not good but destroying old machines and norms to make way for better ideas and progress is great.
